Ego separates and divides us, love joins and brings us together.
I have listened to Divine Love by Wayne Dyer several times, and no matter what is going on in my life, when I plug in his voice I am almost instantly calm and feeling the love vibe.
I have always resonated with his teachings, and find his voice to be like that of a wise Father. (Thankfully, he has a very large library of books, and most of them are also on Audible.com )
The beautiful thing about reading or listening to something more than once, is that you get something new out of it each time.
I want to share with you what stood out to me very clearly while listening on my walk today, and felt called to pay the message forward.
In one of the chapters, he uses the analogy of an orange to describe how what is inside of us, will always be what shows up on the outside.
It’s like the saying that hurting people hurt people.
There are so many ways I can see this playing out in how we create our own realities much of the time, but I will stay on topic. 😉
He asks, “when you squeeze and orange, what comes out?” and of course the answer is “orange juice”.
It doesn’t matter who or what is squeezing that orange, the same thing will always come out.
He goes on to explain that it’s not because of who or what does the squeezing, the same thing has to come out, because it’s what’s inside.
He asks, “when someone squeezes you, what comes out”?
If we have love in our hearts, and do our best to come from love in all that we do, say and think, love will pour out of us no matter what someone outside says or does. Or what the economy becomes, or what so-and-so did, or didn’t do.
If our intention is to come from love, we will be full of love, and that is all that will come out of us.
It can be subtle shifts in choosing another way to see a situation or a person. Noticing when we are having judgement of another, or secretly feeling jealousy or resentment toward another.
When we have reached a place where we can catch ourselves having that thought, or speaking those words of our lower self, and shift into intentionally thinking or rewording something as we would from our Higher Self, this is the practice.
We aren’t striving for perfection, just awareness and the willingness to choose again, or see things from love.
A miracle is a shift in perception from fear to love. – A Course in Miracles
The fact that we can redirect our thoughts and consciously pause and select our words with intention leaves a wide open field where we can be free from our own suffering.
Much of our suffering begins, and ends in our own mind.
If anger, hatred, judgement, and resentment is something you often feel toward others, and you find yourself acting or feeling in Lower Self ways (shame, guilt, self loathing, self comparison) know that the work lies within you to shift this.
If you are acting out in anger, there is anger within. This is where the healing begins.
It’s not up to anyone outside, the work is to go deep inside to heal our hearts and spirits.
Chaos within, chaos without.
Love within, love without.
So many ailments, and diseases manifest to guide us to come back to ourselves, back into our hearts.
Back into our true nature, to rediscover who we really are outside of our accomplishments, material items, diplomas and degrees and our roles we play as mother, father, wife, husband, nurse, counsellor, doctor, grocery store clerk, and so on.
We operate too much in our analytical mind, the judging and condemning mind, the worry and anxiety mind.
The cure for all of which is to come back to our center through practices such as meditation, contemplation, prayer, studying and listening to spiritual teachers, and reading literature that expands the heart, mind, and soul.
