Do you go through life feeling like things outside of you are the reason
why you feel the way you do?
Do you constantly find yourself reacting to what others around you are doing with intense emotions?
Does every little thing seem to get under your skin?
Do you often say “he made me feel this way” or “she always makes me feel that way”?
As soon as we are blaming another for how we feel, we are no longer in our power. We have given our power to the person who triggered the upset.
Learning to dissolve the reasons we are triggered when others do things that we feel is the cause of our emotional upset, stress, and pain, brings a deep sense of personal empowerment.
When we are constantly reacting to every little annoyance, we are producing stress hormones (cortisol) and are in our ‘fight-or-flight’ response.
Another way to describe this stress response is “fight, flight, or freeze”.
When you feel triggered, what do you do?
Fight, run away and avoid, or become immobile, unable to speak or think.
When the stress response being triggered is the norm, and happens on a habitual and chronic level, adrenal fatigue, and other health issues will result from the stress hormones being excreted, when we are constantly feeling at the mercy of our environment and what others are doing.
