Diagnosing and Healing Adrenal Fatigue
With a health condition that can create severe health implications, and cascade through the entire mind – body leaving one completely unable to function, you’d think this is something that your family doctor would be able to recognize, and treat. Unfortunately this isn’t the case.
Many are desperately searching for the answers to their declining health, and go to their family doctor over, and over, to get help. In most cases, they are given prescriptions to help them sleep, along with anti-anxiety and anti-depressant medications.
Desperate to feel better, many opt for the advice of their doctor, and take their medications hoping this will solve their worsening health problems.
It has been estimated that around 90% of the reasons we visit the doctor are for issues that are, at least on some level, stress related!
Doctors are for sick care – not health care.
Meanwhile,popping pills to hide the symptoms is only masking the root issue still growing underneath, and the symptoms will return in other ways. Often, getting louder and louder.
This condition puts women at risk for surgeries such as hysterectomy,due to hormone imbalances and issues with their cycle, as well as iron deficiency, heart disease and diabetes associated with abdominal obesity and blood sugar imbalance often caused by AF.
Women and mothers, especially stay-at-home mothers – are at the greatest risk for developing this condition, not just the nine to five CEO professionals you might imagine as being the ‘stressed out’ people in high pressure jobs.
Women are more commonly having to keep many balls in the air while often juggling parenting, work, sick kids, a home, managing play dates, getting kids to their activities, health appointments, meal planning, cooking, house tasks, not to mention making time for their own wellness and self care.
Women are nurturers by nature, and tend to give to everyone else, neglecting themselves in the process.
It is really easy for us to allow our needs to get pushed to the bottom of the to-do lists. And this is very dangerous to our health and well-being.
Adrenal Fatigue happens because we have literally abandoned our self, our needs, wants, desires, and self care.
We give, and give, for far too long, bending over backwards to please everyone – except ourselves.
The desire to please everyone around us, at the expense of our self is killing our energy and snuffing out our soul.
We have to stop prioritizing the needs and wants of others before our own.
Mothers, this may sound harsh, and of course the daily essentials of the caring and feeding of our children often has to be at the the top of the list, but we can’t give from an empty vessel.
We can’t show up to our fullest capacity when we are depleted, and tapped out.
We are more impatient, intolerant and disconnected from our loved ones when we don’t take care of our needs first and foremost.
We are more prone to losing our cool, and snapping like a twig when we are living in a pressure cooker all day long, with no time to breath and connect with ourselves.
