We are (mostly) an emotion-phobic society.
Stuffing, denying, numbing and suppressing painful or ‘negative’ emotion is the surest path to creating mental and emotional illness.
Depression is literally “depressed emotion”, so it makes sense that when we try to cover up pain with positive thinking, we aren’t actually doing ourselves any favors.
We have to be courageous enough to dig deeper into the real issues of what is going on, and clear away the emotional debris that is stunting our growth in order to truly feel free, and heal out body-mind.
When you start to practice what I call “emotional embodiment” and truly allow your emotions to be moved through your mind, body, and energetic – spiritual system, miracles begin to happen.
