How to Improve Your Marriage..Without Talking About it

Men and women are inherently different

Women tend to operate from the emotional brain, and men from their logical brain.

To become whole we need to integrate our emotional and logical brain.

I am reading a book right now called “How to Improve Your Marriage without Talking About It” by Patricia Love, and Steven Stosny.

What I have gathered from this book so far is enlightening.

The FEAR – SHAME dynamic is what creates major pain and conflict in marriage. And, when these are triggered it creates a physiological response in the body by causing the stress response to be turned on (cortisol surge).

I have been talking about how marital stress can lead to health issues like adrenal fatigue, hormone imbalance, and gynecological issues for awhile now.

And while working with my clients who are burned out we also work on the dysfunctional dynamics she is experiencing in her marriage. And often, she is not aware of the major role this is playing with her health and mood.

In the U.S, according to The National Women’s Health Information Center, CDC, “1/3 of women will have a hysterectomy by age 60”.

Many of these women who opt to have this vital organ removed, do not actually need this procedure due to life threatening conditions, like cancer, but to alleviate heavy periods, painful periods,  and other hormone, stress related issues.

How our pelvic region and its organs function is directly linked to the health of our love relationships, according Dr, Christianne Northrup  in her book, Womens Bodies, Womens Wisdom.

It is also linked to past trauma and sexual abuse, and total disconnection from our body.

This is why I treat women from a holistic approach, mind, body, soul, relationships. It is all interconnected.
